star island’s YRUU con, is basically a con you’ve been to before, only for a whole week in june…on a beautiful island away from the world, cell phones, games, etc… where you sleep in the hotel buildings - big comfy white cottages and buildings overlooking the ocean.

A typical day is:

Wakeups - with silly themes different every morning

Breakfast in the Oceanic hall buffet style (yummy stuff!)

Morning meeting - basic rundown of the schedule for the day, announcements, reminders, theme for the day

AM Workshops - usually week long workshops are here, where you meet each morning for the whole week - traditional workshops are art barn, women’s group, men’s group, romance on the lawn, etc.

Lunch - yummy food with wait staff who we love dearly.

PM Workshops - one shots, or one day workshops are typically here, which can be lead by any youth at the conference

ALL Con Activity - fun activities we’ve had in the past were Mardis Gras celebration, middle school dance, Party on the moon, fun stuff

Social Action group - optional - discussions, activities, ways to make a difference

Theme Dinner - dress up dinners in the Oceanic hall - different themes each night

Family groups - meet in small groups to get to know each other, make sure each other’s conference is going good, make connections with each other, play games, etc.

Events in the evening - different each night - traditions are a softball game, volleyball game, coffeehouse, auction, and more!

Worship - a great way to feel the connection not only between you and others, but as a group, very welcoming, bonfire is a tradition

Nite owls - late night workshops that any night people want to lead!!
